Interchain Labs, the engineering team behind core Cosmos infrastructure, has rebranded as Cosmos Labs. The move signals a renewed focus on scaling the Cosmos ecosystem, which now boasts over 200 production chains and $1 billion in monthly transfer volume via IBC.

The rebrand reflects a strategic consolidation under the Interchain Foundation, following its acquisition of Skip Protocol in late 2024. Cosmos Labs will serve as the primary product, engineering, and growth arm for the Cosmos stack.

The initiative underscores Cosmos' thesis of interconnected, purpose-built blockchains as the optimal path for on-chain commerce. The name change aims to elevate Cosmos' visibility among developers and institutional adopters.
